Ikuyo Yamanka ((Australia)

Ikuyo began the craft of lamp working in Japan in 1975.

In 1980 she began participating in exhibitions, both group and solo.

She worked for many years with various forms of glass; lamp work, accessories, art objects, tableware, kiln work and more.
In 2003 she moved to Vancouver Canada and has since been concentrating on making beads with soft glass.

She has her own studio in Vancouver British Columbia and enjoys making beads every day.

These last few years she has given classes in Ottawa and Vancouver in Canada.

She has also put together tutorials to share some of her techniques and enjoys selling her art through the Internet.

After all these years she still finds glass a fascinating medium to work with as it offers limitless possibilities and continually stimulates her creativity.
