Marta Gola

Marta Gola (Australia)

I am an artist working in Moorooduc on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia.

I completed a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts Drawing at the Victorian College of the Arts 2007. Since then I have maintained my personal creative practice whilst also working as a branding graphic designer. In recent years I have established my studio in Moorooduc and returned to my creative practice full-time. Currently I am exploring a range of media which include drawing on paper, painting and working with ceramics.

My work is predominantly figurative, inspired by the essence and energy of people and the physicality of the human form. This subject matter allows me to explore the fragility of the human experience, the flux and nuance of our inner thoughts, feelings and emotions. My work is a reflection of my own experiences as a woman, mother and creator, exploring ideas of coming home to self and going within.

I am interested in the embodiment, expression and divinity of the ‘feminine’.
